St. Georgeâs University invites applicants for the position of DRIVER within the Transportation Department Job DescriptionObjectiveDrivers within the transportation department are responsible for operating SGU buses to transport students, faculty, staff, and other authorized personnel, in a safe and controlled manner.Drivers play a pivotal role in enhancing the student success by providing a safe and reliable service along pre-determined routes to and from campus. The driver is expected to conduct himself in a professional manner which reflects the ethos of St. Georgeâs University.Essential Functions Communicate with passengers and employers regarding delays or any issues along a route. Complete a daily vehicle inspection sheet prior to operating any SGU vehicle. The completed sheet is to be handed to the duty supervisor once completed. Should maintenance or cleaning be required, you are to inform your supervisor immediately and list any such issues on the daily inspection form Adhere to the busing schedules Wearing issued uniform in a presentable manner Observance of all Government traffic laws and best practices which are enforced by the RGPF, All accidents, penalties and fines, as a result of driving, on and off the job, must be reported immediately to the Transportation Manager. Report all mechanical issues to management (manager or supervisor) as soon as is possible.
